(Los Angeles) April 11, 2018 – The board of directors of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation announced today that it approved six grants totaling more than $13 million during the first quarter of 2018. These grants were awarded to six organizations spanning across the Hilton Foundation’s priority areas, serving the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people both in the U.S. and internally.

Hilton Foundation. “We’re thrilled to be working with these terrific organizations to serve some of the most vulnerable populations across the globe.”
Following is an overview of all grants awarded in the first quarter of 2018:
Safe Water – Stanford University will receive $1.93 million to finalize and implement the monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) program for the Safe Water Strategic Initiative. IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre will receive $7.63 million to strengthen governance systems of district-based programs and facilitate monitoring and learning efforts to achieve safe, affordable and reliable water across six countries.
Young Children Affected by HIV and AIDS – Stellenbosch University was awarded $2 million to implement the monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) program for the Young Children Affected by HIV and AIDS Strategic Initiative.
Foster Youth – The Door – A Center for Alternatives, Inc. will receive $825,000 to support the Academy program, which provides high school education, robust college access and employment pathways for foster youth in New York City. First Place For Youth was also granted $750,000 to improve intensive case management around employment, education and parenting outcomes for foster youth in Los Angeles.
Catholic Education – Empower Illinois was awarded $650,000 to implement private school choice for low-income families interested in enrolling their children in Catholic schools in the state of Illinois.
