The following documents provide an overview of our operations, financial health, and investment approaches.
The Foundation’s investment team was formed in 2008 and engages external money managers to invest globally across different asset classes. Because the Foundation was established to exist in perpetuity, the investment team takes a long-term view toward its investments.
We have a particular focus on identifying and investing with newer, smaller managers. We have invested in funds with modest assets under management, including instances where we have been the first institutional capital. Investing with a firm early in its lifecycle presents unique benefits in terms of alignment of interests and allows for us to develop a long-term partnership. We would encourage managers to reach out to us for consideration as potential partners.
As of December 31, 2016 the team managed approximately $5.4 billion in assets ($2.6 billion in Foundation assets and $2.8 billion in related charitable entities).
