Cultivating successful career pathways to transform the lives of opportunity youth
The hospitality industry has great potential to serve opportunity youth through the development of career pathways—sequenced delivery of education and training opportunities, accompanied by support services—to prepare people for success in the workforce. This promise is particularly strong in New Orleans, where the hospitality industry offers a solid beginning point for young people at the start of their careers.
In June 2018, the Foundation’s board of directors elected to expand the Hospitality Workforce Development program area. Over the coming months, we will be developing a revised strategy for the next phase of work and plan to announce the new strategy in Fall 2019.

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has a long history of grantmaking in support of education for the hospitality industry. Acknowledging that the hospitality industry has changed, we recently revised our funding guidelines for our Hospitality Program. Learn how our new guidelines align with our overarching mission of improving the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people around the world.
To expand the Youth Development Program, which provides disconnected young people with a path to self-sufficiency through foodservice-based training, mental health, education, and work readiness programs in the New Orleans area.
