On Friday, October 19, hundreds of leaders came to The Beverly Hilton to attend the 2018 Hilton Humanitarian Symposium and Prize Ceremony, honoring the 2018 Hilton Humanitarian Prize recipient, SHOFCO (Shining Hope for Communities).
This year’s theme “The Future of Humanitarian Action: Resetting Our Moral Compass” guided the topics addressed at the day-long symposium by esteemed speakers including: Academy Award-winning Actor Charlize Theron; New York Times Op-Ed Columnist David Brooks; U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator Ambassador-at-Large Deborah L. Birx, M.D.; Sudanese-American Slam Poet Emtithal Mahmoud; California Congressmember Karen Bass; and many more.
