Join us in celebrating National Catholic Sisters Week from March 8 through March 14.

Created to honor women religious, National Catholic Sisters Week is a series of events that instruct, enlighten and bring greater focus to the lives of these incredible women. National Catholic Sisters Week is an opportunity to recognize Catholic sisters and their many contributions to society in areas such as education, healthcare, social services and advocacy.

Many Americans are unaware that Catholic sisters serve on behalf of all people, not just Catholics. Hilton Foundation-sponsored campaigns such as Sister To All acutely demonstrate Catholic sisters’ remarkable reach across religion, age and race. Sister Heather Stiverson (pictured below) exemplifies the outward focus of sisters. As a teacher of English as a second language in a predominantly Arabic speaking classroom, Sister Heather helps adults improve their reading, speaking, listening, writing and basic computer skills through one-on-one tutoring and small group classes. This National Catholic Sisters Week, we encourage you to learn more about women like Sister Heather, who with selflessness and unwavering commitment, are improving the lives of millions in remarkable and unexpected ways.
