Marc Holley

As vice president of strategy and programs, Marc Holley leads all aspects of the organization’s global grantmaking and serves as an officer of the Foundation. Over the prior decade, Holley was at the Walton Family Foundation, where he most recently served as the organization’s interim executive director. He previously served as the Walton Foundation’s director of strategy, learning, and evaluation, and as a program officer. Holley has authored a number of scholarly articles, essays, op-eds, and a book on topics spanning education, strategic philanthropy, and learning and accountability in foundations. Before joining Walton, Holley worked in several roles associated with education policy research, including as an adjunct professor of education policy at the University of Arkansas. Holley began his career as a K-12 teacher and coach in Atlanta. He holds a Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Arkansas, a MED in education administration and policy from the University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University.
