Lilies Njanga

Lilies Njanga is a program officer and manages parts of the Early Childhood Development – East and Southern Africa grant portfolio. She designs and monitors grants, provides technical support to grantees and supports the development, review and presentation of grant proposals.

Prior to joining the Hilton Foundation, Njanga was the Africa director at Malaria No More UK, where she led the development of the organization’s Africa strategy and establishment of an in-country work model for the Africa region work. Njanga previously worked with the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) as the Africa lead, Strategic Engagement and Communications. During her time at CIFF, she also held other roles including leading the Early Childhood Development and Neglected Tropical Diseases portfolios. Before joining CIFF, Njanga was with Ecumenical Pharmaceutical Network, a former pharmaceutical program of the World Council of Churches working on programs aimed at increasing access to essential medicines and promoting rational use of medicines.

Njanga has worked in international development for 20 years and holds a master’s degree in Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from United States International University – Africa.  She is currently pursuing a PhD in Development Studies at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
