Karissa Oien coordinates grantmaking activities for the Program Department of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. She works closely with the senior program officer and program officers to monitor grants, and she contributes to the development, review, and presentation of grant proposals for the Safe Water Initiative.
Prior to working at the Foundation, Oien worked at California Lutheran University, most recently as the Manager of Faculty Affairs. During her tenure at the University, she chaired the Staff Development Committee and the Connect Committee on campus, along with managing multiple databases and providing support to the provost and faculty.
Oien earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from California Lutheran University.
