Emma Heffernan

Emma Heffernan coordinates grantmaking activities for the Program Department of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Heffernan monitors current grants and supports the development, review and presentation of grant proposals, with a focus on the Foundation’s Homelessness initiative. Prior to joining the Hilton Foundation, Heffernan was a fellow at the Barton Institute for Social Enterprise and Philanthropy, working in partnership with the Denver Foundation and Social Venture Partners Denver on social enterprise development in the Denver metro region. Heffernan also previously worked for Korbel Asylum Project, which supports the asylum process through the production of human rights and country condition reports. She holds a master’s degree in international administration and a certificate in international law and human rights from the University of Denver, and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
