Driven by a commitment to health equity, The Task Force uses collaboration to address large-scale health problems that affect populations in 151 countries.

Collaborative model to address global health problems

Over its 32-year history, The Task Force has used a powerful collaborative model to address the health needs of those most in need. The organization’s work consists of programs focused on neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), vaccines, field epidemiology, public health informatics, and health workforce development. In each of these areas, The Task Force partners with other organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and ministries of health to provide the expertise and resources necessary to address large-scale health problems.

The Task Force sees collaboration as a vital tool in addressing large-scale health problems and is exploring how its expertise can help address the growing epidemic of noncommunicable diseases.

International reach

Today, The Task Force reaches hundreds of millions of people and supports work in 151 countries. Currently, The Task Force and its partners are working to eliminate three NTDs—blinding trachoma, river blindness, and lymphatic filariasis—by 2025. These diseases have burdened populations around the world for millennia with blindness, disfigurement, and a host of negative health effects. This work is supported by The Task Force’s pharmaceutical partners that donate billions of dollars annually in essential medicines to eliminate these diseases.
