Nurturing Catholic schools

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation supports Catholic schools and seeks to extend their educational benefit to more students.  The Foundation presently is investing in organizations and programs to help ensure that Catholic education remains vital and accessible throughout the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

Grants were awarded in 2010 to:

  • Support initiatives of the Carrie Estelle Doheny Foundation and the Department of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to provide parochial and diocesan schools with the tools to market Catholic education more effectively at the grassroots level.
  • Enable the Center for Catholic Education at Loyola Marymount University to conduct research into the most effective approaches for operating Catholic schools and to document the impact of Catholic education on students and society at large.
  • Helping the Catholic Education Foundation to provide tution awards to elementary and high-school students in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles who are considered most "at risk" and are in danger of dropping out of school due to extraordinary financial and family circumstances.
