Ryan Cherlin joined the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in 2020 as director of advocacy. He works in partnership with the Program, Partnerships and Communications teams to develop advocacy strategies that advance the Foundation’s mission by creating an enabling environment through supportive policies, sustainable financing and accountability efforts.
Cherlin has more than 11 years of experience across multiple sectors, including the United Nations, U.S. government and nonprofit, as well as advocacy and communications consulting. Cherlin joined the Hilton Foundation after six years in Seattle with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he led a global communications-for-advocacy strategy to advance women’s and children’s health issues. He managed a $15M+ investment portfolio and complex partner relations with governments, private sector and non-state actors to advance program goals in 15+ donor and emerging markets.
Cherlin holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in public relations from Temple University.
