Krista Acosta-Edzie supports the grantmaking activities for the Catholic Sisters Initiative with a focus on the United States and Latin America region. Acosta-Edzie monitors current grants including the review of annual reports, coordinates grant-related activities, supports the development of new proposals, and contributes to online and print communications for the team. Acosta-Edzie has a background in program management with a focus on youth development and women and girl’s empowerment. From 2012-2014, Acosta-Edzie served in the Dominican Republic as a Peace Corps volunteer working in the public health sector, during which time she supported a mother’s health initiative and facilitated capacity-building of a local youth group. Acosta-Edzie holds a dual MBA and M.A. in sustainable international development from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Humboldt State University.
