Disaster response in Pakistan

LOS ANGELES – August 19, 2010. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has made the following grants to support disaster response activities in flood-affected Pakistan:

  • $100,000 to BRAC to support provision of emergency WASH services including distribution of safe drinking water and water purification tablets, and construction of community hand pump wells, sinks and temporary latrines.
  • $100,000 to International Medical Corps to support provision of emergency medical relief and health-related services including treatment of injuries and communicable infections, as well as treatment and prevention of water-borne- and hygiene-related diseases.
